Technical Rules


All bikes must comply with the MiniGP Series Technical Rules, these rules form part of the conditions of entry. Riders are responsible for ensuring their bike remains compliant throughout the event. Officials may conduct inspections at any time. Penalties for non-compliance are outlined in the Penalties & Protests section.

The following rules apply across all MiniGP classes unless otherwise stated:

Required Modifications (All Classes)

  • Durable plastic/nylon crash sliders must be fitted to axles, bar ends, and foot peg ends. These must be permanently fitted and appropriate to protect the track surface in the event of a crash.
  • Oil filters or covers, and sump plugs must be lock wired.
  • Brake caliper bolts should be lock wired where possible.
  • Sharp edges of wind screens must be protected with a cover.
  • Fairings must be fitted, be OEM or OEM shape, and made of fiberglass.

Race Numbers

  • Race numbers must be fitted to the front and both sides of the machine.
  • Numbers must able to be easily read from 20 meters distance.
  • Digits must be whole and not overlap or be obscured by stickers.

Allowed Modifications

Permitted for all machines entered in the MiniGP Series:

  • Jetting changes.
  • Aftermarket air filter may be fitted, but only to the OEM carburetor.
  • Fork position in the triple clamps may be changed.
  • Fork oil type, thickness, and level may be changed.
  • Handlebars and levers may be changed.
  • Rearsets and foot controls may be changed to aftermarket units.
  • Shock springs may be changed (unless otherwise restricted in class rules).
  • Hand-controlled rear brake may be fitted. If used, it can be routed directly to the rear caliper and the foot lever/master cylinder removed.
  • Lap timers may be fitted.
  • Tyre warmers may be used.

Prohibited Modifications

Unless specifically allowed in the class rules, the following modifications are not permitted:

  • No internal engine modifications. All engines must remain sealed and in OEM specification.
  • No slipper clutches. Clutch components must remain OEM.
  • No quick shifters.
  • No cartridge kits or internal changes to fork or shock valving.
  • No lightweight wheels, frame, or chassis components.
  • Carburetor must remain OEM in brand, model, and size.
  • Brake calipers and discs must remain OEM, unless otherwise specified in class rules.
  • Exhaust system must remain OEM, unless otherwise specified (e.g., muffler changes for decibel reduction in 190cc class).

Class-Specific Rules:

110cc Mini Superport (Junior & Senior)

Machine eligibility:

  • Open to Delirio, Ohvale, Bucci, YCF, GRC brands. No custom-built machines allowed. Inclusion of additional brands can be proposed for yearly rule updates.
  • Must be MiniGP-specific models using 110cc air-cooled four-stroke automatic engines.
  • Can be 10" or 12" wheels.
  • Engines must be OEM.

150cc Mini Superport (Junior & Senior)

Machine eligibility:

  • Kayo MR150 models only. Engines must be OEM.
  • Additional allowances:
  • Aftermarket front brake master cylinder, caliper, and disc may be fitted, as long as they mount to OEM fork lowers.
  • Aftermarket shocks may be fitted.
  • Electric start kits may be fitted.
  • Chain and sprockets may be changed to different sizes, but must remain in original pitch (428).

160cc Mini Superport (Junior & Senior)

Machine eligibility:

  • Open to Delirio, Ohvale, Bucci, YCF, GRC brands. Must be MiniGP-specific models. No custom-built machines allowed. Inclusion of additional brands can be proposed for yearly rule updates.
  • Can be 10" or 12" wheels.
  • Additional allowances:
  • Fork springs may be changed.
  • Electric start kits are allowed if the engine comes already fitted with a starter motor.
  • Brake pads may be changed for non-OEM.
  • Front brake master cylinder may be changed.
  • Chain and sprockets may be changed to different sizes.

190cc Mini Superport (Senior Only)

Machine eligibility:

  • Open to Delirio, Ohvale, Bucci, YCF, GRC brands. Must be MiniGP-specific models. No custom-built machines allowed. Inclusion of additional brands can be proposed for yearly rule updates.
  • Can be 10" or 12" wheels.
  • Allowed engine types: Daytona Anima 190 and Zongshen 190.
  • Sealed engines in OEM spec only.
  • No big bore machines.
  • Additional allowances:
  • Muffler may be changed for the purposes of reducing decibel readings only.
  • Additional restrictions:
  • Exhaust header and pipe must remain OEM.
